March is National Nutrition Month!
Best Food Forward: Plan Shop Cook Enjoy!
This March, attend a free, local grocery store tour and give your grocery cart a makeover!
According to a 2012 Dietitians of Canada Ipsos Reid Poll, two-thirds of Canadians struggle with making
healthier food choices at grocery stores, at least half the time they shop. Every year, dietitians across
Windsor-Essex County build on the nutrition month theme to further educate residents about nutrition
and healthy eating.
This year, as part of our local Nutrition Month activities, the Registered Dietitians of Windsor-Essex
County (RDWEC) are encouraging residents to put their “Best Food Forward: Plan Shop Cook Enjoy!”, by sharing our knowledge of nutrition, healthy eating, and healthy shopping. It is our goal to teach people
how to make healthier food choices for themselves and their families.
Above is a list of the FREE, dietitian-led grocery store tours that will be offered throughout the region.
Each tour will take one hour and will accommodate a maximum of 12.
